Marshall County is currently taking applications for a Groundskeeper position in our Maintenance department.  The individual selected for this position will be responsible for maintaining county grounds and buildings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 

1. Maintain grounds of County buildings and parks.
2. Wash down outside of County buildings.
3. Clean offices in County buildings.
4. Replace HVAC filters in County buildings.
5. Shampoo or steam clean carpets.
6. Move furniture in County buildings.
7. Assist with building maintenance as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of generally accepted methods of commercial cleaning of buildings.
• Knowledge of products and equipment used in cleaning buildings.
• Knowledge of lawn maintenance equipment and procedures.
• Knowledge of safety precautions and procedures associated with commercial cleaning.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lawn maintenance equipment safely & effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Six (6) months experience in building and grounds maintenance, which included cleaning of buildings interiors and exteriors.
• Must possess a valid State of Alabama driver's license and a driving record suitable for insurability.
